“Joe” Dickey Electric, Inc.; a Mahoning County, Ohio Area Electrical Contractor has an excellent opportunity for an Electrical Project Manager in their Company in the Commercial / Industrial Market. We are seeking a candidate for a management level position; but we would also be interested in candidates that may not have the required experience to serve as an Assistant Project Manager. The successful candidate must be dependable, flexible, and able to perform their assigned duties in a fast paced Construction Environment and will be responsible for the comprehensive management of their assigned projects. The position’s expectations are that the Project Manager will oversee their projects from planning to completion; ensuring project profitability, employee productivity, maintaining the customer’s completion schedules, crisis management, ongoing revenue generation, and customer satisfaction. They are to provide their support to the Electrician’s, Labor Coordinator, Material and Tool Managers, and Office Staff to help make every project successful for the customer and company. The position requires an individual who is self motivated and capable of multitasking, collaboration, mediation, and problem solving on a daily basis. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the required aptitude and proficiency during a 6 month probationary period.

• Follow and enforce all ‘Joe’ Dickey Electric Safety Policies so that all work is completed SAFELY.
• Prepare / Assist in preparation of estimates as required to generate revenue.
• Develop schedule of values for projects.
• Develop job cost budgets for the tracking of projects (following the company format).
• Develop manpower projections for projects; then implement and monitor them.
• Assist Purchasing Agent / Pre-Construction in preparation of submittals for projects.
• Assist Purchasing Agent in the purchasing materials for projects.
• Assist Purchasing Agent in the coordination of shipping schedules and delivery of materials / subcontractor service(s).
• Assist Billing Clerk to develop invoices for progress billings
• Identify problems that could affect a project while documenting events (including letters, pictures, and all documentation) necessary to resolve problems in favor of the company while still maintaining customer satisfaction.
• Establish and maintain current client and potential client relationships.
• Manage quality control programs.
• Attend project meetings and work with other trades to achieve successful projects.
• Identify and resolve client problems and concerns in an efficient and timely manner.
• Identify, price and track all contract change orders.
• Prepare a variety of status reports; including manpower usage, change orders, follow-up, and adherence to goals using company forms.
• Communicate goals and priorities to field employee supervision continually monitoring successful project completion.
• Coordinate with safety director to achieve company goal of zero lost time accidents.
• Manage and complete closeout documents, O&M manuals, and what other documentation is required to closeout projects.
• Assist CFO / Accounting with follow-up for collection of payment.
• Represent the company with integrity when out with potential customers in the community.
• Be able to adapt daily tasks to help meet the needs of our company.
• Attend company and vendor training events to better your knowledge of existing and new products.
• Attend company and industry functions as required by upper management.
• Maintain contact with all clients in the market area to ensure high levels of Client Satisfaction.
• Represent the company through professional or community organizations.
• Remain up to date with Local, State, and Federal regulations involved in the electrical construction industry.
• All other duties as assigned.

• Must have experience in partnering with a management team, and have a high level of written and oral communication skills.
• Must be able to interact with our customers and actively participate in the sales approach.
• Must have proficient computer skills.
o Experience with MS Office and Accubid Estimating Software is desirable.
• Must be vigilant, sincere, responsible, and driven.
• Must be friendly and courteous towards all of our customers (Electricians, Labor Coordinator, Material and Tool Managers, Office Staff, Vendors, and ‘Joe’ Dickey Electric Customers).
• Must have good team spirit and work in perfect coordination with their colleagues.
• Continually think of new and innovative endevors to enhance the success of ‘Joe’ Dickey Electric.
• Must have a sound work ethic
• Knowledge / Demonstration of Safe Work Practices
• Have ability to write correspondence / notes.
• Effectively present information to others one-on-one.
• Organizational skills to effectively process all construction documentation
• Self-confidence to take the initiative to approach potential customers/clients
• Ability to read and interpret specifications and blueprints
• Experience with any form of construction bidding software is a plus
• Must be able to work in a fast-pace construction environment.


• Starting Salary will be negotiable for Individuals with pertinent experience / references.
o Estimated Range $60,000 - $100,000
o Performance Bonus

• Electrical – 5 Years (Required) 
• Project Management – 2 Years (Minimum)
• Preferred: Construction Business Experience

• Minimum: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• Preferred: Bachlor’s Degree (Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or equivalent experience (Electrical Apprenticeship + Industry Experience)
• Provide listing of successful project management experience that relates to the last 5 years of your work experience in electrical construction.

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have Valid Driver’s License.
• Must have Clean Driving Record.
• Must consent to Motor Vehicle Record Search, Criminal Background Check, and comply with Company Drug Testing Requirements.
