Thiel College seeks a qualified Executive Assistant to provide high-level, confidential administrative support to the College President. This full-time position performs diverse and advanced tasks, is required to resolve complex administrative issues, and manages and coordinates the administrative and clerical support functions of the President’s office and the Board of Trustees.


Education and Experience:


A Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience assisting an Executive level position or 10 plus years of administrative experience leading to support for an Executive level position. Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills are required and the ability to communicate effectively verbally and through written correspondence as well as in communicating with individuals in one-on-one situations. Attention to detail, adeptness with multitasking and excellent organization skills are required. Must be able to work independently, use initiative, and make substantive decisions quickly. Strong computer skills are required, with proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.


Essential Job Functions:


President’s Office


  • Facilitates the efficient utilization of the President’s time through development and coordination of a complex calendar of appointments, meetings, social engagements and College and community functions with individuals and groups.

  • Serves as the liaison between the President and other College administrators, members of the Board of Trustees, public and private officials, various boards, faculty, staff, students and parents.

  • Coordinates planning and arrangements for all events hosted by the President.

  • Assists the President with timely management of all written and oral communication needs.

  • Manages the President’s travel arrangements.

  • Assists the President in oversight functions by reviewing documents prepared by other offices for the President’s signature.

  • Facilitates cost-effective office expenditures, oversees management of budgets under control of the President’s Office, and balances expense accounts and credit card statements.                                                                                                                                                                                                                 

  • Represents the President’s office in planning and coordinating major campus events and campus enhancements

  • Assists the Vice President of Academic Affairs/Dean of the College when required (absence of Administrative Assistant).


Board of Trustees

  • Plans and coordinates Board of Trustees meetings and related committee meetings along with meeting documentation.
  • Manages a complex electronic filing system for all Board of Trustees meetings and Board Committee meetings.

Working Conditions:

Standard office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with a one hour lunch (Monday through Friday) in a general office and campus environment with occasional evening and weekend work.
