On Vehicle Mechanic- Diesel

Cleveland, Ohio


D&W is currently seeking an individual experienced in on-vehicle & diagnostics for our branch in Cleveland, OH. The person that we hire will have proven mechanical skills and a strong aptitude for trouble shooting today’s complex diesel engine management systems. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform work as outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with stated standards.
  • Ability to perform repairs on diesel engines, fuel systems and vehicle drive line components, such as braking & electrical systems
  • Proficient in the use of diesel engine scan tools and computer diagnostic programs
  • Proficient in the use of diagnostic repair manuals, diagrams and schematics used to diagnose electronically controlled fuel systems
  • Proficient in the use of electronic testing equipment such as multi meters, volt amp testers and load testers
  • Proficient in the use of cutting and welding equipment, shop equipment such as hydraulic presses, pullers, dial indicators, micrometers, reamers and shop power tools.
  • Keep shop area neat and clean, and be able to account for company tools at all times
  • Ensure that customer vehicles are kept clean
  • Road-test vehicles to ensure of quality repair
  • Document work performed on repair order

This position offers a Monday to Friday work schedule with no nights or weekends, a professional work environment, competitive hourly wages along with company supported benefit programs including health, disability and life insurance and a 401(k) plan with matching and profit sharing.



  • Light duty diesel experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record

 Required Education: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Technical or trade school degree preferred
